5th International Parliamentary Debate Competition Awards

2024-02-18

The English Debate Team is proud to share some good news! During the Lunar New Year break, our students competed in the 5th International Parliamentary Debate Competition (IPDC) and took home numerous awards.

With over 50 schools from 80 plus countries competing over the years, the IPDC is a competitive international debate competition and involves delegates from all over the world, including the Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Regions. This year, our school had 6 teams passionately competing against students from Africa, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Lebanon, Macau, The United States, and Vietnam.

Out of the 63 teams from 22 schools, we are most excited to share that two of our teams won Champion in both the Upper Secondary and Lower Secondary Division! On top of this, many of our students won Best Speaker awards throughout multiple rounds of the competition. All in all, our students won 21 well-deserved awards in the 5th IPDC. Our winners have been awarded scholarships to the World Scholar’s Cup and Model United Nations, as well as cash prizes! We congratulate and recognise these students for their hard work and determination.
