Extra-Curricular Activities Committee 2011-12
 
Objectives
  1. To diversify the interests of students and to help them develop their abilities and aptitudes in different aspects of intelligence and learning.
  2. To provide physical and aesthetic skills and learning experience to the students.
  3. To educate students in the areas of moral, intellectual, physical and social development, as well as to encourage them to appreciate creative arts and culture.
  4. To enrich the school life of students so as to make them enjoy learning.
  5. To develop leadership qualities among students.
  6. To promote self-confidence and self-esteem within students, through various tailor-made performances and activities.

Implementation Plan

Major concern: Further enhance the non-academic performance so as to promote the school image.

  • Strategies:               

    • a) Employ professional coaches to conduct ECA training.

    • b) Introduce the athletic/ aesthetic skill scheme in order to have better seeding for accomplishing school team.

    • c) Award scholarship to students who have outstanding performance in external competitions.

    • d) Organize overseas training program for potential athletes

  • Intended Outcome:

    • a) 40 different kinds of extra- curricular activities are provided in ECA sessions.
      b) A number of school sports and music teams obtain encouraging results in external competitions.

  • Success Criteria:     

    • a) The attendance of students reaches 80 % or above. b) 80% of staff are satisfied with the students’ effort, performance and awards received in external competitions

  • Method of evaluation:    

    • a) Document records & questionnaire b) Students’ participation in training or competition

Major concern: Better implementation of Other Learning Experience (OLE)

  • Strategies:               

    • a) Operate OLE in module system.

    • b)To organize an OLE committee.
      c) To work out informative and presentable SLP documents for students.
      d) A comprehensive curriculum for Other Learning Experience will be implemented.

  • Intended Outcome:        

    • a) A balanced development on the aspects of physical and aesthetic experience, moral and civic education, community service and career-related experience will be in stilled.

  • Success Criteria:     

    • a) Students actively participate in OLE lessons.

    • b) A detailed SLP can be issued to students.
      c) The time allocation of Other Learning Experience can meet the requirement of the EDB.

  • Method of evaluation:

    • a) By observation & questionnaire

Major concern: Promote core value of students (sense of responsibility)

  • Strategies:               

    • a) Operation of Students’ Union. b) House committee members can organize inter-house competitions independently.

  • Intended Outcome:

    • a) Students can organize different kinds of activities independently.

  • Success Criteria: 

    • a) 80% of ECA committee members consider the number of activities and participation rate of the students and teachers as satisfactory.
