School Speech Day 2011-2012 was held at our school hall at 7:00 p.m. on 21 May 2012. We are grateful to have Professor John Lee Chi Kin, JP, Vice President (Academic) of The Hong Kong Institute of Education to be our Guest of Honour. Mr Clifton Yeung, Principal Education Secretary of PLK Education Affairs Department, Mr Wong Chung Ki, Principal of PLK Tong Nai Kan Junior Secondary College, Mr Derek Yeung, Principal of PLK Camoes Tan Siu Lin Primary School, Ms Jessica Man Sze Wing, Principal of PLK Lam Man Chan English Primary School, Ms Rovina Lee, Chairperson of Parent Teacher Association of our school, Mr Anders Ho, Parent Manager of the Incorporated Management Committee of our school, and Dr Alice Luo, Executive in Residence of the School of Business and Management of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, also attended the occasion. Guests, our Principal, teachers and parents gathered to share the joy and achievements of our Form 6 and Form 7 graduates.
The beginning of the event was energized by our school’s Marching Band. Following the enlightening speech delivered by Professor Lee, we proceeded to the presentation of awards and certificates, symbolizing the harvest of students’ hard work throughout their secondary school life, and recognizing their effort in their studies, ECAs, as well as community services. Heartwarming moments came when our graduate representatives gave their speeches and performances. Their genuine sharing, their lively singing and dances, as well as their gratitude and dedication shown certainly gave us a great time – a time of tears, laughter and excitement. And finally, the presentation of carnations to parents with lovely background singing by our school choir brought a sweet and warm closing to the ceremony.
