The School Speech Day 2009-2010 was held at our school hall at 7:00 p.m. on 28 May 2010. We are honoured to have Professor Ho Man Wui, Former Registrar of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as our guest of honour to officiate at the ceremony, as well as Mr. Quincy K.Y. Lui, Chairman of Po Leung Kuk Board of Directors 2010-11, Mr. Simy Y.P. Wong, Director of Po Leung Kuk Board of Directors 2010-11, Mr. David Chan, Chief Executive Officer and Project Director of The Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture, Mr. Yu Xing Yuan and Mr. Li Qiang Min from The Hong Kong Institute of Education, Mr. Clifton Yeung Kin Chung, Principal Education Secretary of the Po Leung Kuk Education Affairs Department, Mr. Lo Yan Shing, Vice-chairperson of the China Candlelight Educational Fund, and Sergeant Luk Chung Pui of the Hong Kong Police Force to join us and share the joy of our graduates.
More than four hundred parents and two hundred graduates joined the occasion, which began with a splendid performance of our Marching Band followed by an enlightening speech delivered by Professor Ho Man Wui. Next came the presentation of awards and certificates symbolizing the harvest of graduates’ hard work throughout their secondary school life.
The speeches and performances of our graduates also added colours to the ceremony. To express gratitude to the school, our Form 5 representatives, Yu Chung Yan and Babani Vineeta gave a touching speech. Our Form 7 graduates sang a song with their own lyrics full of heartfelt thanks whereas our Form 5 graduates gave a lively dance performance. A moving farewell speech was then given by our Form 7 representatives Lee Siu Tung and Wong Wing Yue, and finally, the presentation of carnations to parents with the gentle background singing by the school choir brought a sweet and warm closing to the ceremony.
