Implementation Plan

(a) To well implement the NSS curriculum
1.     Teaching schedule of NSS Physics (4-years) is revised.
2.     Enhancement of professional development in teaching NSS Physics through seminars and workshops offered by EDB
3.     Participate actively in marking of public exam papers to get familiar with the new marking standard

(b) To further elevate the academic achievements of students
1.     Development of new revision package based on the new NSS syllabus
2.     Devise enhancement and remedial programme to develop students’ abilities

(c)  To cultivate effective teaching and active learning
1.     Project work, article reading, newspaper cutting, searching information in internet and/or presentation are assigned to all students in each form
2.     More demonstrations in teaching and learning are incorporated with the curriculum
3.     Participate in external competition to widen the horizon of our students

(d)  To further enhance a good EMI environment
1.     Long experimental report writing tutorials and booklet are incorporate in normal teaching curriculum in F6 and 7 level
2.     Essay-typed questions are included in assignments and assessments
3.     Presentation / written report in English is required in projects
4.     Classroom Q&A in English

1. Curriculum

Form 3: Aiming to help students to build up basic chemistry knowledge related to our daily life. Topics that will be covered include: introduction of chemistry, planet earth, metal and atomic structure.
Form 4-6 (NSS1-3): Based on the chemistry knowledge learnt in F.3, students are required to have a precise study on the microscopic world, chemical reactions and daily chemistry. Topics include microscopic world, acid and alkali, chemical cell and electrolysis, fossil fuels and carbon compound, etc.
Form 7: In-depth investigation based on the foundation of the HKCE Chemistry will be introduced to students. Major topics in Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Chemistry in Action will be taught to students. We aim to prepare students for undergraduate courses in university which require basic chemical knowledge.

2. Co-curricular activities

    1. Regular training course on Physics Olympiad is organized for both junior (F2, 3, 4) and senior (F5) students.
    2. International ROV competition (Hong Kong regional contest)
    3. School-based Astronomy workshops and lectures
    4. Visit to Science Museum and Space Museum
    5. Visit to physics department of local university
