Objectives
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the range and organization of computer systems, and the interrelationships among hardware, software and data;
  • Realize the social, ethical and legal issues pertaining to the use of ICT;
  • Use a range of applications software effectively, ethically and with discrimination to support information processing and problem-solving;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of methods for analyzing problems, and planning and implementing solution using ICT;
  • Appreciate how information literacy and the sharing of knowledge using ICT will influence decision-making and shape our society;
  • Develop responsible and positive attitudes towards to use of ICT;
  • Have an in-depth study of the following elective areas and be able to apply their understanding to solve problems:

Implementation Plan

Major Concerns 1: Better implementation of NSS
Intended Outcome:

    • Students can get good results in HKDSE
    • Students are familiar with the curriculum structure

Strategies:

    • Tailor made notes will be given
    • Challenging questions will be given to high flyers. For low achievers, tutorials will be provided so as to consolidate their foundation knowledge

Success Criteria:

    • The passing percentage of the mock exam should be more than 85%

Major Concerns 2: Enhance students’ active learning habit via different IT tools
Intended Outcome:

    • Students enjoy the competition
    • Students do online exercises automatically

Strategies:

    • Students are encouraged to participate in external competitions
    • Online learning exercises will be distributed for self learning

Success Criteria:

    • Students should participate in IT related external competitions
    • Students get familiar with the online learning platform

Method of Evaluation:

    • Performance of the competitions
    • Submission rate of the online platform

Major Concerns 3: SBA project
Intended Outcome:

    • The quality of SBA report and the product can be improved

Strategies:

    • SBA supplementary lessons should be provided so as to enhance the quality of report and the software

Success Criteria:

    • Over 60% of students can get more than 60 marks in SBA

Method of Evaluation:

    • Public exam result

  • Glossary will be given in the notes on unit basis
