Objectives
  • Aims
    • The subject aims at developing a range of abilities to communicate ideas using graphical means with both technical and non-technical personnel among students.
    • Students should be able to use appropriate visual representation methods including technical graphics, design graphics and computer-aided graphics techniques and other presentation methods to interpret and present technical information, design concepts and different forms of information.
  • Objectives
    • To develop, communicate, implement and evaluate solutions creatively.
    • To understand and apply the knowledge of process and resources used in designing, making and evaluating products and solutions.
    • To nurture abilities to communicate ideas using graphical means and to develop students’ critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    • To develop students’ abilities in identifying needs, problems, opportunities, their respective constraints and preferences.
    • To respect cultural differences and the rights of others as well as developing a sense of social responsibility in performing technological activities.
    • To develop students’ knowledge and skills to cope with the rapidly emerging technologies.
    • To appraise the impact of technology on the society and environment.

Implementation

    1. To provide environment for students to practice various drawing exercises including the use of information technology facilities.
    2. To set up project guidelines for students, in particular the management of time, resources and assessment criteria.
    3. To organize project exhibition or presentation sessions for students to present their projects by means of project folio or mock-ups.
    4. To select relevant cases and set up guidelines for students to follow.
    5. To present materials in a well-organized and safe manner.
