Computer Literacy 2011-12
 
Objectives

Students would be able to do the following after finishing the course:
Form One students:

  • Use the intranet and resources (eClass and email) provided by the school;
  • State the names and uses of different devices of computers;
  • State the names of software which are commonly used;
  • Apply dedicated software (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to finish simple tasks;
  • Search useful information from the Internet;
  • Upload and download files from FTP servers;
  • Edit a photo with students’ own preferences;
  • Type Chinese characters. [For Chinese students ONLY]

Form Two students:

  • Draw simple graphics using simple graphic software;
  • Take photos using digital cameras;
  • Create simple animation using Flash;
  • Create a personal homepage;
  • Apply dedicated software to finish intermediate tasks;
  • Create a data CD;
  • State the necessary hardware needed for forming a network

Form Three students:

  • Apply basic features of a programming language and write simple computer programs;
  • Be aware of social issues related to computer applications;
  • Edit a music clip;
Create and edit a video.

* Programming Part would be omitted in Form One and Two curriculum

Ethics and Social Impacts under the sections of Computer Systems will be carried out in all forms by means of News Commentary.
