Curriculum
Form 3: Aiming to help students to build a basic chemistry knowledge related to our daily life. Topics that will be covered include: introduction of chemistry, planet earth, metal and atomic structure.
Form 4-6 (NSS1-3): Based on the chemistry knowledge learnt in F.3, students are required to have a precise study on the microscopic world, chemical reactions and daily chemistry. Topics include microscopic world, acid and alkali, chemical cell and electrolysis, fossil fuels and carbon compound, etc.
Form 7: In-depth investigation based on the foundation of the HKCE Chemistry will be introduced to students. Major topics in Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Chemistry in Action will be taught. We aim to prepare students for undergraduate courses in university which require basic chemical knowledge.
Co-curricular activities
Several co-curricular activities such as plant visits and university lab workshops will be organized for F.3 to F.7 students to arouse their interest in chemistry, and develop their practical skills in chemistry which they could not learn under traditional secondary curriculum.
Evaluation
Interim evaluation and year end evaluation will be conducted among the team members. Improvement plans will be introduced according to the evaluation. |
