Implementation Plan

Form 1 Visual Arts

  1. Graphic Design in Typography – Understanding the visual principle of typography, and design a text title with graphic impact
  2. Mask Design -- Understanding the mask design from different cultures, and design a creative mask
  3. Silhouette Painting -- Understanding colour blending and gradation skills, and design a silhouette with colour gradation background
  4. Sketch our stationery -- Understanding basic sketching and drawing skills, and sketch our stationery.
  5. Pointillism Painting -- Understanding the history of pointillist painters and their styles, and draw a picture with pointillism effect
  6. Art appreciation -- Introduction of Renaissance art history and artists
  7. Collage -- Understanding the concept and application of collage, and create a collage artwork
  8. Create an emboss relief with aluminum foil sticker paper -- Understanding the concepts of emboss, relief and texture, and design a pattern embossed with aluminum foil sticker paper
  9. Photo extension -- Understanding colour blending skill, and extend a tear-off photo by extended drawing

Form 2 Visual Arts

  1. Checker world painting -- Understanding the use of compass to create an illusive checker space and sphere, and create a checker world painting
  2. Paper clay sculpture making -- Understanding the theory and skill to create a 3D model, and make a sculpture
  3. One-pointed perspective -- Understanding the use of one-pointed perspective, and design an ideal home
  4. Portrait with emotions -- Understanding the technique to draw the face and the shoulder, draw a portrait with different facial expressions
  5. Art appreciation -- Introduction of Impressionism and impressionist artists
  6. Positive and negative space paper cutting –Using the cut and paste methods to create a picture of positive and negative space, and design a positive and negative space by paper cutting
  7. Western Calligraphy -- Understanding the forms of calligraphy in italic styles, and handwrite a poem with italic style with calligraphy pen
  8. Sketch our campus -- Understanding how to capture a good angle of view, and sketch our campus

Form 3 Visual Arts

  1. Painting with radial layout -- Understanding different approaches to create visual impact, and draw a picture with radial layout
  2. Sketch a manikin -- Understanding different types of lines and gradation of tones, and sketch a manikin with different postures
  3. Fashion Design -- Understanding the theory of body proportion, and create figure drawings with different fashion images
  4. Stained glass painting -- Understanding the culture and tradition of stained glass, and create a stained glass painting
  5. Art appreciation -- Introduction of some well-known HK artists and designers and their artworks
  6. Western Calligraphy: Gothic Style -- Understanding and practice of Gothic Style calligraphy, and handwrite a poem with Gothic style with calligraphy pen
  7. Painting with paradox idea -- Understanding different approaches to create a paradox drawing, and create a paradox painting
  8. Surrealism painting -- Introduction of surrealism and create a surrealism style painting by a given object of a big hand
  9. Scratch the image with tonal effect -- Understanding the theory of using shades and highlights, and create a scratch picture on a clothed paper

NSS Visual Arts

From F. 4 to F.6, students will learn about print making, acrylic painting, 2D graphic design, 3D model making and computer aided design, etc. Students are requested to complete 2 themes of artwork within 3 years. Each theme contains 3 different artworks.

Form 4 -- Introduction of Art History, Art Movement and well-known artists from Renaissance to Modern art. Students will complete the first 2 artworks of theme 1.

Form 5 -- Introduction of Hong Kong well-known artists and designers. Students will complete the last artwork of theme 1, and the first 2 artworks of theme 2.

Form 6 -- Introduction of Modern Chinese Art History and well-known artists. Students will complete the last artwork of theme 2.
