The Beijing Olympic Games will be the first-ever Olympic Games to be held in China. Chinese people all over the world feel a great sense of pride as our dream can be realized in this century. Most importantly, it is we Hongkongers’ honor to make a contribution to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games by co-hosting the equestrian events.
Hong Kong is selected as the starting point of the Olympic flame passed in the Mainland China after the Olympic Torch Relay has been carried out through 19 cities in the five continents. Therefore, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay on 2 May marks a once-in-a-lifetime event for Hong Kong people to participate in.
46 students from our school were given an opportunity to take part in the Schools Cheering Team organized by the Leisure and Cultural Service Department. They cheered for the torch bearers, witnessing the historical moment in Tsim Sha Tsui. This was indeed a memorable day of their lives.
