科學週
(二零零八年一月二十八日至二月一日)

學週是本校每年舉辦的大型聯科活動,期間物理科、化學科、生物科及綜合科學科攜手合作,設計各式各樣的科學活動和實驗,以拓闊學生的科學視野,並加強同學與科學科老師的溝通。

每年的科學週都會有不同的主題,而本年度的主題是「生活科學」,希望同學能把書本上所吸收的科學知識應用到日常生活上。在科學週舉行的頭三天,同學在午間踴躍參與攤位遊戲和各種科學實驗示範,反映他們對科學有濃厚的興趣。他們更可在完成各遊戲後收集印章,以換取禮物作為獎勵。科學週期間亦設有書展,同學透過閱讀科學小說及科學書籍來豐富科學知識,增廣見聞。我們在第四天舉行了一場辯論比賽;辯題是「政府應立法標籤基因改造食物」,評判為康校長、英文科主任陸家欣老師和綜合人民科主任周可慧老師。兩組同學各自發表意見,盡顯所長,表現出色。 除此之外,同學可於家中登入電子教室,參加「網上科學小測驗」,完成四十條富挑戰性的多項選擇題。最高分者及最高參與率的班別皆可獲獎。

總括而言,是次科學週給予同學不少啟發和樂趣。他們從中體驗到,科學與日常生活是息息相關的。

 

 

 

 

 

 

Science Week
28 January to 1 February 2008

Science Week is an annual school activity co-organized by the departments of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Integrated Science. Various events coving a range of scientific topics are lauched on school campus, aming to provide our students with an exciting vision of the world of science. They also give students an opportunity to meet and interact with science-subject teachers through different scientific experiments and activities.

There is a specific topic for Science Week each year. The topic of this year is “Science for Life”. We hope our students can apply what they have learnt in science lectures to daily life. On the first three days of Science Week, there were game booths set by different science departments at the podium on 1st floor during lunch break. Demonstration of experiments and interesting activities were held by different departments for students to participate in. Our students showed great interest and participated actively in different games. After finishing each task, they could collect stamps for presents as an encouragement. There was also a book exhibition during the Science Week, where students could enrich their knowledge by reading science frictions and science-related books. On the fourth day, there was a debate competition judged by Mrs Hong, Miss Luk and Miss Chau. The 2 groups of students expressed their viewpoints for and against “The government should legislate for the labeling of genetically modified food”. They performed very well and showed their talent during the competition. Apart from the curriculum time, students could get involved in the Science Week at home by entering the “On-line MC Quizzes” in the e-class, which is consisted of 40 challenging multiple choice questions coving different areas of science. Students with the highest mark and classes with the highest participation rate were awarded.

In conclusion, the Sscience Week offers our students a platform to explore science, and to enjoy themselves during their exploration of the science world.
