  "提升自尊感" - 輔導週回顧

理學家認為自尊感是我們生活中不可或缺的部分。對成長中的青少年而言,自尊感更是他們必須建立的元素,是日後成功必備的條件。因此,學校舉辦了一項名為「提升自尊感」的輔導週。希望透過一連串的活動來提升學生的自我形象,讓學生和老師相互欣賞對方,從而令校內的師生關係更為融洽。

Self-esteem is so important to us that it determines our success in our lives. Realizing the importance of self-esteem on teenager's school life, the school's guidance team has organized a guidance week named the "'VIVA My Colour" in mid-March. The main aim of this program is to enhance students' self-esteem through a wide variety of activities. Through the activities, we hope to provide a channel for students to express themselves. We also expect that the relationship between students and teachers would improve by joining the numerous functions.

橫額設計活動

輔導週的口號為'VIVA My Colour", 意思是「畫出屬於我們的色彩」。為了配合是次主題,輔導組舉行了橫額設計的活動,讓全校師生在一幅長十二尺的白布上,利用手印及指印以填上不同的顏色,以眾人之力,完成「VIVA My Colour」的橫額,藉此加強師生相互間的聯繫。在大家的努力下,創造了一幅色彩繽紛,屬於大家的橫額。

Banner-Making Activity

The part that drew the most attention from the students was the banner making activity. Students from all classes and forms cooperated together to turn a 12-feet plain white cloth into a beautiful banner by decorating it by their palms. In this activity, not only the students, teachers and the principal were also actively engaged. The cohesiveness of all members of the school can be well-illustrated in the product - a colourful picture made up of handprints of the school's staff and students.

攤位遊戲

為讓同學對自尊感有較深入的了解,輔導組設計了五個攤位遊戲,並以「獨特感」、「方向感」、「聯繫感」、「安全感」及「能力感」為主題。透過有趣輕鬆的遊戲,相信學生已認識到自尊感與生活的密切聯繫。

Game Booths

Five game booths were set up in the school in the guidance week. These booths had different educational meanings as each booth symbolized one aspect of the concept 'self-esteem'. Upon finishing the five game booths, students were guided to reflect upon the five aspects of self-esteem - sense of selfhood, sense of direction, sense of affiliation, sense of safety and sense of ability. In a relaxing and funny way, students were able to gain a better understanding of self-esteem and how it is playing a role in our lives.

歌曲點唱

為營造和諧的學校氣氛,輔導組在輔導週的午膳時間舉行了歌曲點唱的節目。節目進行期間,全校師生爭相在點唱紙上寫出對師生關懷、鼓勵的訊息;工作人員亦於點唱時間讀出老師及同學的心意,從而讓學生學習欣賞、感謝和鼓勵別人的重要。

Song Dedication and Messages

In order to foster a caring school environment, song dedication sessions were introduced during lunch periods to provide a chance for students and teachers to write messages to each other. Touching words from students to schoolmates, encouraging words from teachers to students and words of appreciation from students to teachers, alongside with motivating songs of appreciation, were broadcasted in the school campus.

早會分享

輔導週在校長、輔導老師及學生代表於早會舉行的宣傳活動下展開序幕。每天的早會上,老師及學生均會朗讀一些有關自尊感的學生作品;老師分享他們的成功經驗、並向學生傳達一些由老師寫給學生的心意。透過這些活動,創造一個充滿自尊及自信的校園大有幫助。

Morning Assembly

The guidance week started with a bang by the principal, guidance teachers and students representatives in the opening ceremony. At the beginning of each day during morning assembly, students were presented with a piece of advice about self-esteem, like teachers' sharing on the tips of success, students' sharing on their writings and messages of appreciation from teachers to students. These created an atmosphere of self-respect and self-confidence among members of the school.

Let me tell you a story

跨科活動

為讓學生對自尊感的輔導主題有更全面的認知,輔導組與其他科目合作,為學生提供與主題相關的不同創作平台。中文科方面,同學撰寫了「誰能代替你地位」、「天生我才必有用」和「我是誰」的文章;英文科方面,老師創設了與自尊感及自信相關的文題,例如「我以……為榮」、「我最欣賞的同學」及「一封向朋友、父母、同學致謝的信」。集齊優秀作品後,輔導組將之張貼於壁報上,讓師生欣賞同學成果的同時,也令學生對自尊感有深刻的認知。

Co-curricular Activities

Within the school curriculum, assignments in various subjects related to the theme of self-concept were collected. For Chinese, students were asked to write on the topics "Who am I?" and "Who can replace me?". For English, "A letter of appreciation to my friends/ parents/ classmates", "I am most proud of…" and "A classmate that I appreciate most" were given as their free writing topics. While in Art and Design lessons, Form 1 students were asked to draw their own self-portrait. Students' works were displayed as an exhibition in the school. The school was filled with work by students which portrayed themselves in various positive ways.

自我形象講座

年青的學生非常重視他們的外表。有見及此,輔導組舉辦了一個以「自我形象」為題的講座,讓專業美容師向學生講解有關改善自我形象的生活細節。透過是次活動,學生除對健康的生活及自我形象有更透徹的認識外,也令他們的自信心增加了不少。

Self-Image Talk

Teenage students are particularly aware of their appearance. In regard of this, an image talk was organized to build up students' confidence in their appearance. A beauty specialist was invited to give a talk to teach students how to have better skin care and better diet in order to present others with a tidy and clean image. In this talk, students learned the importance of fit and healthy in showing others a positive self-appearance.

書展

輔導週中,輔導組亦舉辦了與主題相關的書展。書展中展示的書籍都是一些受年青人歡迎,與自尊感有關的讀物。例如「如何能成為更具自信的人」及「擴闊你的社交圈子」等。

Book Exhibition

A book exhibition was organized to equip students with both theoretical and practical knowledge of self-esteem. A wide range of teenagers' books surrounding on the topic self-esteem, such as 'How To Become A More Confident Man' and 'Enrich Your Social Circle', were covered in the book exhibition.

總結

輔導週是我校為提升學生自尊及自信而設的全校性大型活動。是次活動能成功推行,實有賴全校師生的全力支持。整個活動中,中文、英文、美術科及輔導組攜手合作,設置及創辦了不少活動。 在為數不少的學生參與下,成就了這個以『VIVA My Colour』為主題的輔導週。

輔導週雖然完結,學校仍然留下當中的一點一滴。學校四周佈滿了由老師及學生所寫下的心意咭。雖然所寫的對象不一,但都帶出了同一訊息──我們應學懂欣賞別人,欣賞自己。整個活動中,所有參與的學生都有出色的表現,展現了耀目的光芒。透過是次活動,相信學生已學會欣賞感恩及明白自我的存在價值。

最後,特別鳴謝美術科莊老師及譚老師的頂力相助,為我們設計了美麗悅目的海報和宣傳用具,並引導學生完成精彩的自畫像。同時,亦感謝中英科各位老師的協助,為我們提供了多篇學生優異的作品,以供展覽之用。

Conclusion

The guidance week was an initiative in our school to promote the awareness of counseling-related concepts among our students. The accomplishment of the programme was achieved by cooperation among different units in the school. Ths team, students' work across different academic subjects were integrated under therough joint efforts of the guidance team, the English team, the Chinese team and the Art theme of the guidance week. The integration of students' work in a cross-curricular way was promising in its effect on raising students' sensitivity towards the issue. After going through the intensive programmes in the week, the school was left alone countless positive words written by teachers and students. Though they came in various forms, they all came to send our students one message - we are worth appreciating and we need to appreciate ourselves. Not only did the participants of the programmes benefit from the thought-provoking activities, student helpers of different units were able to achieve a good sense of competence by their demonstration of good team work.

P.S. Special thanks should be given to Mr Chong and Miss Tam, for their generous support for the art work and beautifully designed posters and table stands, and also to the English and Chinese teachers, who provided well-written student compositions for the display.
