To know more about the living habitats of Chinese White Dolphins in Hong Kong, the College has organized a Dolphin study tour trip to Lung Kwu Tan, Tuen Mun on 22 February 2005.
Though the weather was cold on that day, and the number of dolphins spotted was less than usual, it did not affect the students' enthusiasm on watching dolphins. Whenever a dolphin came near to the ship, students were overwhelmed with excitement.
According to the guide, sea pollution and reclamation in recent years have threatened the living habitats of Chinese White Dolphins, and the number of Chinese White Dolphins in Hong Kong have been decreasing over the years. He stressed the need to help protect the sea.
After the tour, it was believed that students have realized more about the ecosystem in the seas in Hong Kong and living habitats of different kinds of dolphins here in Hong Kong. In fact, students' interest in Chinese White Dolphin has been tremendously grown. Also, their concerns over the crisis of Chinese White Dolphin and even the ecosystem in the seas in town have been increased.
